Terms of Service
The rules for using OtterTrack, in plain language.
Last updated August 23, 2026
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using OtterTrack, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use OtterTrack. By using the app, you’re confirming you meet that age requirement.
Your Account
You’re responsible for whatever happens under your account, including anything posted from it. Keep your login details to yourself. If you think someone else has access to your account, contact us right away.
User Content & Conduct
You keep ownership of the songs you log, comments, bios, and messages you post — OtterTrack just needs a license to display that content back to you and the other people you share it with (your groups, followers, and Discover, depending on your settings) in order to run the app.
Don’t post or send anything illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or that impersonates someone else, and don’t use the app to spam, scrape, or abuse other users. Group chat, comments, and bios go through an automated filter before posting, and every post, comment, chat message, and share can be reported — you can also block anyone who bothers you, right from where you see their content. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, without advance notice if the situation calls for it.
Intellectual Property
OtterTrack’s name, logo, and app design belong to us. Song titles, artist names, and album art are sourced from Spotify’s public catalog and belong to Spotify and the relevant rights holders — OtterTrack doesn’t claim ownership of that data, and no Spotify account of yours is ever linked or accessed.
Third-Party Services
OtterTrack runs on top of a few outside services to work: Supabase hosts our backend and data, Spotify’s public API powers song search, and Expo’s push notification service delivers alerts to your device if you’ve enabled them. Your use of OtterTrack is also subject to any applicable terms those providers have for their own services.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. You can delete your own account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone — this permanently removes your data and can’t be undone.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
OtterTrack is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the app running smoothly and content moderated, but we don’t guarantee it will always be error-free, uninterrupted, or that every piece of objectionable content will be caught before you see it. To the extent permitted by law, OtterTrack isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
Changes to These Terms
If these terms change in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
